All-female officers in the Fiji Police Force have been given the opportunity to take a break and enjoy the Mother's Day weekend with their families.

Only male officers were deployed on operations from last night to early this morning.

This meant that officers based at Police Headquarters were pushed out last night to beef up operations in the Southern and Central Divisions.

Police Commissioner Sitiveni Qiliho says from policing operations to administration, its inspiring to see their women colleagues balance work and their role as mothers whether they are members of the uniformed or civilian staff.

He says as they pay tribute to the contributions of their mothers, they also salute all fathers, grandparents, aunts, uncles, sisters, brothers and guardians and anyone who has had to step up to the play the role of a mum.
