A 26‑year‑old man was arrested from Rajasthan India on Saturday for allegedly killing his four‑year‑old daughter to appease God through a sacrificial offering during Ramzan.
Indian police say the accused admitted his crime during interrogation, claiming that he wanted to please God by ‘sacrificing’ his beloved daughter Rizwana.
The previous afternoon, the man had taken his daughter to the market, bought her lots of goodies, and told her he loved her very much.
Police say at night, while the family slept on the terrace, he took Rizwana to a room on the ground floor, recited holy verses then murdered her and then went back to sleep.
The man’s wife woke up to find their daughter missing. She searched the house and found her daughter lying dead in the ground floor room. The child was rushed to the hospital and was pronounced dead on arrival.
