A 35-year old farmer of Namuka, Bau in Tailevu appeared in the Nausori Magistrates Court this afternoon for allegedly killing a 21-year old man on Tuesday.
Police Prosecutor, Sergeant Mukesh Rao asked the court for Setareki Ratatagia’s case to be transferred to the High Court as Ratatagia is charged with an indictable offence.
Ratatagia has been remanded in custody and matter has been transferred to Suva High Court which will be called next Thursday.
Ratatagia allegedly assaulted the man when he was waiting for a boat at the village seawall.
He was rushed to the Nausori Health Centre where he was pronounced dead on arrival.
