Muna Lal , the grandfather of the 13-year-old girl who was murdered in Namara, Labasa last month.

The grandfather of the 13-year-old girl who was murdered in Namara, Labasa last month is pleading with the public to come forward if they have any information that will help police in their investigations.

Jia Jannavi was found lying near the front door of her home with visible stab wounds on the 22nd of last month.

Munna Lal says he has been trying to console his daughter, Jia’s mother, who has lost her only daughter.

He says he has run out of words that would give his daughter, Rohini the strength to deal with the loss.

The distraught grandfather says Jia was a very bright child and adored him very much.

He says she was his eldest grandchild and was the apple of his eye.

Lal says Jia was much loved and she and her mother had no fights with anyone.

He says the family is carrying out the final Hindu rituals at his residence which will finish on Thursday.

Meanwhile, Police say investigations are continuing and no one has been taken in for questioning as yet.

Police had earlier said that they will be releasing more information once significant progress has been made.
