Family of 5-year-old girl who passed away as a result of an accident in Ba still in shock

Rakesh Naidu, the father of late 5-year-old Disha Naidu who passed away last night as a result of the accident near Moto in Yalalevu, Ba on Monday says he and his family are still in shock.

The father of three says his daughter had sustained serious injuries and succumbed to the injuries last night.

Disha was a kindergarten student in Nadi.

Naidu says he raised his youngest daughter with great love and care.

He says his wife and son are still admitted at the Lautoka Hospital with serious injuries while he and his 9-year-old daughter were discharged yesterday.

Naidu says his wife Minal Naidu needs surgery to install plates to both her legs while his son is admitted in Intensive Care Unit.

Disha is the second victim of this accident who has lost her life as a 45-year-old woman had earlier lost her life in this accident.

Police say five passengers and the driver remain admitted at the Lautoka Hospital.

The road death toll currently stands at 3 compared to 12 for the same period last year.
