Family members get into a fight when one accuses the other of hiding toilet paper
Shelves normally stocked with hand wipes, hand sanitizer and toilet paper sit empty at a Target store in Arlington, Virginia, on March 13, 2020.

A family in California in the US has experienced firsthand the effects of the toilet paper shortage in that country but their experience turned violent in their own home.

CNN reports a 26-year old man has been arrested and charged with battery after a dispute over the family's toilet stockpile.

He allegedly punched his mother.

The son accused the mother of hiding the toilet paper.

CNN reports the mother admitted to it and told Police it was because her son was using too much.
