FWCC strongly opposes comments by Smith-Johns
The Fiji Women's Crisis Centre has strongly opposed comments made by the Permanent Secretary for Information for NGO's to stop getting involved in politics and look at issues like violence against women and children.

Sharon Smith-Johns has stated that churches and NGO's should play a large part in providing solutions to problems surrounding women and children.

Crisis Centre Coordinator Shamima Ali rejects the suggestion that they have not been playing their part.

Fijivillage questioned Ali what the Crisis Centre is doing to assist in the reduction of rising rape cases involving women and children.

However Ali said they have to be involved in politics.
