FRU to put players and staff on leave without pay if COVID-19 crisis continues - O’Connor
Fiji Rugby Union CEO John O’Connor

Fiji Rugby Union CEO John O’Connor says if the COVID-19 crisis continues, the organisation will consider putting players and staff on leave without pay.

The FRU headquarters has been closed and skeleton staff are working from home.

O’Connor says they hope that this will not end in such a situation, but they must keep in mind that businesses are closing, and thousands of employees have lost their jobs and they must be prepared for the worst.

The CEO has advised all working employees, contracted staff, players, coaches and consultants of Fiji Rugby about working for only 3-days in a week.

O’Connor says staff who have balances will continue to take their leave.
