FRU plans to settle debts before building new rugby house

FRU plans to settle debts before building new rugby house
“Before any other plans, debts have to be paid first.”

Those were the words of the Fiji Rugby Union Chairman Colonel Mosese Tikoitoga at the FRU Annual General Meeting yesterday, stressing that all debts have to be paid before the union plans to build a new Rugby house.

Board members raised an issue to the members of the delegates regarding the performance of the 2011 Rugby World Cup team and how the management dealt with the funds.

The Board members carried out a research and shared that the two assistant coaching staff were paid $200,000 each in the 2011 Rugby World Cup and $50,000 to Mosese Rauluni for helping out the team in one week when they did not perform to what was expected.

Meanwhile, members of the FRU delegates praised the Board members for doing a good job and also raised some motions such as have 80% of the Fiji Team be local based players.
