FRU confirms on-going discussions on Flying Fijians v All Blacks match

Fiji Rugby CEO John O’Connor confirms they are in discussions with New Zealand Rugby on having a match against the All Blacks this year.

O’Connor says for now nothing has been confirmed since most of their top players are still in Europe and the European club window is still undecided at the moment.

He says they are also in discussions with the European clubs on moving the release window to be in October.

All Blacks Coach Ian Foster told Newstalk ZB that it is a matter of being fair to the Pacific Islanders and allowing them to find out when they can get their players – but they certainly are very keen to line up and play them.
