FRIEND Fiji’s flood relief works have been boosted with donations from Fiji and abroad.

FMF Foods Limited made a surprise donation to FRIEND delivering 100 bags of 10kg rice, 100 bags of 10kg flour, 80 packets of biscuits and 80 kilos of dhal.

FRIEND Fiji says these donations will be part of their flood relief work and a donation towards various orphanages they support in the Western Division.

They say they thank the management of FMF for their generosity as they have been providing donations to support their COVID Response work last year in every month.

CEO and Founder, Sashi Kiran says they are also thankful that they had masks and sanitiser donations that were mobilised quickly to all evacuation centres.

Kiran says they are also grateful that they had received donations in memory of Professor Brij Lal that could be mobilised quickly.

Kiran says all donations are used dollar to dollar for community needs and administration costs are borne by the organization.

She says they are grateful to the Village Headmen and the Village Health Workers for providing them with the data of these families.

Kiran says they have delivered 61 food ration packs to families in Navoci Village, 61 in Nawakijuma and Vunarewa, 37 in the Lomolomo area, 50 in Lomolomo Village, 59 in Nakavu Village, 36 in Narewa Village, 40 in Yavusania Village and 30 food ration packs to Sikituru Village

She says others were delivered to Gina settlement where 42 ration packs were distributed, 20 in Saravi, 52 in Saunaka and 125 in the Lovu seaside area.

She says they are currently working in Ba and Drasa.
