FRIEND Fiji is aiming to help 1000 students with stationery kits for the new school year.

Founder and CEO Sashi Kiran says they have already distributed more than 700 stationery kits and they aim to achieve their target by the end of this week.

Kiran says they are also liaising with other partners so that assistance is evenly distributed.

She adds they want to assist students because they feel if children miss school now they may not return to school again.

Kiran says logistically it is not possible for them to provide uniforms as there are different colour school uniforms and sizes.

She adds they have been talking to school managements on what needs to be done next and if students are adequately supported.

They have assisted students in Nadi, Sigatoka, Lautoka and Ba and are also planning to support students in the Yasawa and Mamanuca Group.

If you want to assist FRIEND Fiji, you can contact them on 8983183 or friend@connect.com.fj.
