The Fiji Roads Authority is working to repair the sinkhole at Kings Road near the 4-miles bridge and are aiming to open both lanes by 4am on Monday.

FRA Acting CEO Kamal Prasad says after the inspection last night, the Water Authority of Fiji has concluded that the 24 metre length of pipe needs to be replaced which will affect both the Suva and Nausori bound lanes.

The sinkhole occurred on WAF’s Western Wastewater Trunk Main which transports raw wastewater from Suva City and the surrounding areas to Kinoya Wastewater Treatment Plant.

The collapsed pipeline is a concrete pipe that spans across the highway from the upstream manhole on the Cunningham Road Exit to the downstream manhole beside the 4 Miles Road Bridge.
