The Fiji Roads Authority will be carrying out major upgrading works on a few roads in Suva from today.

FRA’s General Manager Network Operations and Maintenance, Aram Goes says FRA will be upgrading Borron Road, Lekutu Street, Naqasima Place and Grant Place.

He says conditions of these roads have deteriorated due to old age and high vehicle usage.

Goes says they will be removing the existing pavement and applying a membrane seal and then pave a fresh asphaltic concrete layer top as the finishing.

Much of these works have been scheduled to be carried out at night, however, motorists are requested to include extra time into travelling.

These roadworks are expected to be finished by the 13th of next month.

The FRA says other major road reconstruction in progress around Suva area includes Kings Road, Ratu Mara Road, Princes Road McArthur Street and Ratu Cakobau Road.
