FRA counting vehicles during peak hours along Suva-Nausori corridor to plan for future upgrades

The Fiji Roads Authority staff are counting the number of vehicles travelling along the Suva to Nausori during peak hours in the morning and afternoon.

FRA CEO Kamal Prasad says this is being done to allow them to set the base line for their traffic model for future upgrades.

He says electronic counters are also being used.

Prasad says counters have been vandalised by the public however they do not know who did it.

He adds they are also noting down the vehicle type where the data will be used for pavement designing.
