The Fiji Performing Rights Association will hold their 7th FPRA Music Awards on 9th May at the Grand Pacific Hotel in Suva.

FPRA Chairman, Eremasi Tamanisau says their main objective is to publicly acknowledge and recognise local composers.

He says this will also provide an opportunity to partner with  corporate sponsors who will be able to provide much needed financial help to further boost the performances of the musicians.

Tamanisau says there will be a total of 15 awards.

He says they will also try to get musicians from around the world that have roots in Fiji to come back and inspire upcoming musicians.

Entries for nominations will close on the 24th of this month.
