Good news for Fiji National University students as today the FNU Foundation received $10,000 from the Chinese Government.
FNU Vice Chancellor, Unaisi Nabobo-Baba says this contribution is a testament to the recognition of education as a powerful vehicle for social and economic progress.
Nabobo-Baba says the FNU Foundation, launched in April this year at their Namaka Campus in Nadi, represents a bold step forward in their efforts to make education more inclusive and sustainable.
She says the Foundation is designed to bring together businesses, alumni, and local and international partners in a shared mission: to remove barriers to education and create pathways to success for all students.
Chinese Ambassador to Fiji Zhou Jian says on behalf of the embassy, he is honoured to make this contribution.
Jian says as a former high school teacher, he deeply understands that education forms the bedrock of a nation's development and prosperity.
He says he can certainly feel that Fijian students have a strong desire and enthusiasm for learning, and they are the backbone for Fiji's development and revitalization.
The Ambassador hopes this donation will help students to work hard, improve their own value, and actively participate in their motherland's development.
