The Fiji National Provident Fund has processed the first batch of payments for families under the TC Yasa withdrawal scheme.

The FNPF says members living in other parts of the country who would like to assist their immediate families in the TC Yasa affected areas, can do so through the urban or village housing withdrawal.

CEO, Jaoji Koroi says this facility has always been open to members wishing to assist their families, with some accessing it during TC Harold and other natural disasters.

He says the purpose of the TC Yasa withdrawal scheme is to assist members who were affected either through damaged homes, furniture, homewares, irrespective of whether the member is renting or owns the property.

He further says their team on the ground undertakes assessment to ensure that the member is residing on the property.

Koroi says only if the member is applying through the village or urban housing withdrawal, then evidence of title/lease ownership is required as per their Housing policy.
