The FM96 Annual Fiji Street Party Big Night Out with Coca-Cola No Sugar has been cancelled due to the current and developing weather conditions.
Organiser, Total Event Company Manager Loretta Jackson says they have unfortunately decided to cancel the event due to all available weather information forecasting heavy rain and strong winds for tomorrow.
Jackson says the set up period from this morning and the event itself would be hazardous to all those involved in these conditions.
She says they do not want to put the public through any dangerous situation.
Two separate low pressure systems currently in the Fiji group are expected to bring more rain today and tomorrow.
The Nadi Weather Office says a trough of low pressure lies over the Southern parts of the Fiji group while another affects the Fiji group from the North.
Meanwhile, the low pressure system that was analysed near the Solomon Islands has been upgraded to a Tropical Disturbance.
TD03F is expected to further intensify and upgrade to a depression within the next 24 hours.
It is expected to move southeast towards the Fiji Group in the next few days and bring heavy rain and strong winds.
