FICAC wants trial to start without Prime Fiji Limited CEO

FICAC has made an application in the Suva High Court to begin trial in the case of Prime Fiji Limited without the company’s CEO.

Prime Fiji Limited is charged with a count each of forgery and using a forged document.

Suva Magistrate Deepika Prakash had acquitted Prime Fiji Limited of both the charges in February this year and FICAC then filed an appeal in the High Court. It is alleged that Prime Fiji Limited submitted falsified security bonds of Westpac Bank amounting to $351,865 to Fiji Roads Authority while negotiating a street light renewal agreement with the Fiji Roads Authority.

It was revealed in court today by FICAC Lawyer Sam Savumiramira that the CEO of Prime Fiji Limited is out of the country.

The matter has been adjourned to the 1st of next month.
