FICAC has been given two weeks by the Suva Magistrates Court to respond to Bobby Maharaj's lawyer's No Case to Answer submission.

Maharaj is charged with one count of abuse of office.

It is alleged Maharaj, while being employed by the Commerce Commission, in abuse of authority directed an employee of the Commission, without conducting an inspection to fill in false information to indicate an inspection was conducted of a trader and a verbal warning was issued against the trader for breaches under the Commerce Commission Decree.

The alleged offence took place in December 2011.

The case has been adjourned to the 6th of April.
