Supervisor of Elections Mohammed Saneem

The Fijian Elections Office is urging everyone who is at a legal age and wants to vote in this year’s election to register and update their voter cards to the latest blue card to prevent any disappointment during election day.

Supervisor of Elections Mohammed Saneem says from the last update, they have registered over 680,000 people.

He says during this nation-wide registration drive, they have managed to serve 52,000 Fijians.

He adds the final number of people who have registered can be known by Monday.

The final day of the nation-wide voter registration is tomorrow.

Meanwhile Saneem says they will now have a Media Watch which is a replica of the ABC’s Media Watch.

He then conducted an analysis of the media on how they reported on his press conference regarding clarifications on the Electoral Amendment Act.

While clarifying the story on fijivillage, Saneem said he did not say for MPs to carry the ballot paper weight on their backs and give their feedback. He said he had mentioned that if MPs did not understand the complications of carrying these weights, and he would be happy to have it placed in parliament for them to lift and carry for 10 days and give their feedback.
