If you are living in affected areas in Sigatoka and Rakiraki, the Fiji Medical Assistance Team has been deployed to your area to provide clinical services.

The FEMAT clinical team will provide health care services in the areas of emergency surgery and maternity care.

The Permanent Secretary for Health Dr James Fong says in anticipating the extensive effect of flooding and limited access to tertiary health care facilities in Lautoka, they have deployed the team to these two areas.

Dr Fong says the teams will be repurposed to perform public health services in each respective stations when floodwaters recede.

The Permanent Secretary also highlighted that they have activated all their command centres and operating centres in various sub-divisions.
