The Fiji Cancer Society has received a boost in their work to assist people battling cancer as the Fiji Development Bank presented them with a cheque of $10,000.

FDB says they successfully fundraised $5,000 in support for those battling with cancer during the cancer awareness months for PINKtober and Movember.

They say the raised funds were then matched dollar-for-dollar by FDB.

FDB CEO Saud Minam says collaboration is one of FDB’s core values and through activities such as this, they foster a culture of giving back to the communities.

He says it’s especially rewarding to work with organisations such as The Fiji Cancer Society, who do so much to provide assistance and support to all Fijians that are sadly facing the challenges posed by cancer.

Minam says as they look ahead, they are also exploring other opportunities to further collaborate with the Fiji Cancer Society and one substantive way is through volunteering.

The CEO also congratulated the team’s efforts to this worthwhile cause as part of the Bank’s corporate social responsibility.

He also thanked the FDB Board for their generosity.
