Expect rain and thunderstorms throughout today.

This is being brought by an active trough of low pressure that is moving slowly over the Fiji group.

Expect rain until Monday.

The Weather Office says there will be occasional rain that will be heavy at times and a few thunderstorms over most places.

It says isolated heavy rain may lead to flash flooding of low lying areas and poor visibility on roads for motorists.

You should also expect winds to become strong and gusty during heavy rain and thunderstorms.
