England will move to the final stage of easing COVID-19 restrictions on 19 July.

It means almost all legal restrictions on social contact will be removed.

BBC News reports the UK's Prime Minister Boris Johnson said it was vital to proceed with "caution" because "this pandemic is not over".

More than 45.9 million people – or 87.2% of adults in the UK – have now had at least one dose of a COVID-19 vaccine.

And more than 34.8 million – around two-thirds of adults – have had both doses.

The final stage of England's roadmap out of lockdown, which was originally scheduled for 21 June, was delayed to allow more people to be vaccinated.
