As the festive season approaches there is a high possibility of an increase in HIV cases, serving as a reminder for everyone to prioritize their health and take necessary precautions.

Reproductive and Family Health Association of Fiji Nurse, Emele Naiceru says while people may consume alcohol and celebrate, it is crucial to remain aware that HIV transmission rates are significantly high in Fiji.

Naiceru advises individuals to remain loyal to their partners, emphasizing that HIV does not discriminate.

She urges anyone who believes they may be at risk to visit a hospital and get tested.

She says a single test can be life-saving for anyone and for those who choose to continue with their lifestyle, she advises doing so safely to avoid contracting HIV by the end of the holiday season.
