Police say there are elements indicating alcohol was involved in the fatal road accident along the Nadali Bypass Road in Nausori that claimed the life of man from Naila Village in Tailevu.
The man allegedly lost control of his car which veered off the road and hit a culvert on Saturday afternoon.
Police say a post mortem examination will determine if the driver was drunk.
A 17-year-old boy who was also travelling in the vehicle is currently admitted in critical condition at the CWM Hospital while the second passenger who is a 27-year-old man escaped unharmed.
