Elections will be free and fair - PM
Prime Minister Commodore Voreqe Bainimarama said before September 30th 2014, he will subject himself to the nation’s will under the provisions of the 2013 Constitution the government unveiled yesterday.

Commodore Bainimarama said he will form a political party and his party will submit itself to the collective will of the 540,000 or so Fijians who have already registered for the elections.

He said his party will fight a battle of ideas with their opponents, who were offered a briefing on the Constitution yesterday and did not show up.

Commodore Bainimarama said the elections will be held next year and the contest will be free and fair.

He said they will stand on their record and on the many reforms they still plan for Fiji.

The Prime Minister said he will launch the new party when he is ready because right now, he is concentrating not on his own political fortunes but on the fortunes of the Fijian people.

Commodore Bainimarama said he is always bemused to read and hear that it will never happen, that Bainimarama will never give up power.

He said that it is all a cruel trick.

Commodore Bainimarama said as each month progresses, they are answering critics not with words but with deeds.
