Elections Office analyzes the need for additional polling stations
Supervisor of Elections Mohammed Saneem

The Elections Office is now analysing the additional number of polling stations required in densely populated areas to ensure that 500 registered voters are allocated for each polling station.

Supervisor of Elections, Mohammed Saneem said work is continuing in this area and the voter list with allocated polling stations will be released after the plans are implemented.

Saneem said these plans and analysis are necessary as Fiji will only have one day of voting.

Saneem said setting up of temporary polling stations is an option for September 17th as they want voters to be comfortable when they come out to vote on polling day.

Additional polling stations are needed in the urban areas.

Saneem said this issue has to be addressed as the difference this year is that registered voters can only vote at an allocated polling station.
