Eid is to be celebrated on Thursday if the new moon is sighted on Wednesday

The Fiji Muslim League says all attempts will be made to sight the moon next Wednesday and if the new moon is sighted then Eid will be celebrated on Thursday however, if the new moon is not sighted then Eid will be celebrated on Friday.

They say moon sighting announcements will be made over the media as soon as it is confirmed next Wednesday as a final announcement will be made at 7.30pm.

The Fiji Muslim League is also requesting employers to grant leave to their Muslim employees to attend obligatory Eid-Ul-Fitr prayer and other commitments of the day.
