Those parents who cannot afford their child’s school fees can seek the Ministry of Educations assistance.
This is the clarification from Minister for Education Filipe Bole after Fijivillage raised the issue on who qualifies for the free assistance.
Filipe Bole said this will be based according to the income of the parents and they can apply to the Ministry.
Bole also said that this is why they are continuing with the free text books and bus fare program to the students next year because it will help the parents and very importantly the student.
Meanwhile, the Education Sector allocation has been increased to $257 million for the upcoming year during the National Budget announcement last week.
Bole said that the government is doing so to help decrease the number of school dropouts and expand the excess of learning to those less fortunate.
