An early morning fire has partly destroyed a Primary School in Lautoka.
Lautoka Muslim Primary School, Administrative Officer Rahim Gul said the fire started around 1.30am and the school security officer informed them about the incident.
According to Gul about 15 classrooms have been completely destroyed with students asked not to go to school.
He has raised concern that the National Fire Authority (NFA) faced some problems putting out the fire.
Lautoka Muslim Primary School teachers and committee members will be having an emergency meeting this morning to figure out their next step.
National Fire Authority Station Officer Lautoka Fire Station Senitiki Tukai said there was no water supply in the Central Business District area and they had to cart water from a nearby area which was about one and a half kilometers away from the scene.
Tukai said they had requested the PWD to open water supply, however by the time this was done, it was too late for the wooden structure.
