Swire Shipping Fijian Drua captain Nemani Nagusa says he is proud of the effort put in by the players during their 28-26 victory over the Melbourne Rebels in their trial match yesterday.

Nagusa says the Rebels gave them a good physical battle as they had expected.

He says now its all about recovery and polishing the mistakes they committed before their first match against the Waratahs next week.

The Drua scored four converted tries against the Rebels.

Hooker Tevita Ikanivere opened the scoring in the first 90 seconds of the first half before flanker Kitione Salawa extended their lead with another try.

Forward Joseva Tamani also scored a try while winger Vinaya Habosi ran the length of the field to score a try towards the end of the match and sealed the Drua’s victory.

The Drua will now turn their attention to their opening match of the season against the Waratahs at 8.45pm next Friday in the Super Rugby Pacific.
