The driver allegedly involved in the death of Krisav Lal in an accident last Tuesday on the Dreketi Highway near Basikalave Settlement has been remanded in custody by the Labasa Magistrates Court.
Police say Lal was crossing the road when he was allegedly hit by a vehicle driven by a man in his 50s.
Police say Benson Yee has been charged with one count of dangerous driving causing death.
Yee has been remanded at the Vaturekuka Corrections Complex.
The matter has been adjourned to April 9th.
