Driver of truck that tumbled and resulted in two deaths is still admitted in hospital

The driver of the truck that tumbled on the Labasa/Nabouwalu Highway which resulted in the death of 16-year-old Sainaz Begum and 40-year-old Karalaini Matare is still admitted in the Labasa Hospital.

Police say the logs fell from the truck and hit the girl and the woman who were walking on the side of the road.

They say the two were walking along the road when the driver from Namaka, Nadi allegedly failed to negotiate a bend and lost control of his truck which was loaded with logs.

The two were rushed to the Dreketi Health Center and pronounced dead on arrival.
