Dradra Eco Tour began with a focus on creating job opportunities for the villagers on Serua Island, especially the youths, to help them avoid getting involved in drugs and other illegal activities.

While speaking to fijivillage News, the owner of Dradra Eco Tour, Taitusi Dradra, says he started his business from scratch, but with the support of his family, it has now been running for a year.

Dradra says he wants to make a change in his community and improve the livelihood of its members.

He noted that it is common in every community to see people from overseas coming over, spending on little things, starting their businesses, and benefiting millions of dollars.

Dradra says the iTaukei population owns 90 percent of the land, yet they often give their land to foreigners who operate businesses and utilize natural resources with minimal benefit to the community.

He sass that they need to utilize their resources and pursue initiatives that will sustain those resources and make a positive change for their communities.

Dradra graduated with a degree in Marine Management from the University of the South Pacific.
