The Permanent Secretary for Health Dr James Fong has confirmed that some people have been given special passes to cross the border in Wainadoi for work purposes.

This is after concerns were raised by some residents in Navua about some people who travel to Suva for work everyday and then return in the afternoon.

Concerns were also raised that this may lead to more positive cases in the Navua and Pacific Harbour areas as people keep moving in and out.

When questioned, Dr Fong says this is a critical business pass group and there is a criteria that people have to work with.

He says it is a special business pass which is given for movement only with specific COVID-19 conditions.
