Hamas officials says at least 70 people, mostly women and children, have been killed in Israeli air strikes on convoys fleeing Gaza City.

No immediate response was available from Israel.

Al Jazeera correspondents have reported that thousands of Palestinian civilians have fled northern Gaza after a warning from Israel.

United Nations Office for the Coordination of Humanitarian Affairs (OCHA) has claimed that tens of thousands of people in Gaza have reportedly moved to the southern region in response to Israel’s evacuation order for Palestinians living in the norther part of the besieged enclave.

Moreover, the OCHA said that prior to the evacuation order, more than 400,000 Palestinians had been internally displaced due to the hostilities.
