Diwali will always bring back sad memories for Jasminder Singh as he tragically lost his mother Kirtan Kaur Singh Ram Raipur due to a fire that destroyed their home in Spring Street in Toorak, Suva last month.
Kirtan Kaur Singh Ram Raipur was trapped in her house when the fire started and after the firefighters had managed to contain the fire, they found her sheltered in one of the amenities.
Singh says his mother was a fighter and had fought for her life for a week but she passed away last Sunday.
Singh who also sustained some burns says he will now work hard and rebuild the house that they have lost and fulfil his mother's dreams.
Raipur, is survived by her husband, two sons, two daughters-in-law and a grandson.
