In Viti Levu, the people are all in a jovial mood and are excited.

We have talked to some people and they have told us that they have been in celebration mood for quite some time now as this is a time to gather with loved ones and enjoy the festivities.

People are also looking forward to play with firecrackers and as Diwali celebrations continue, people from all walks of life have also come out in Indian traditional attire to celebrate.

People have also decorated their house with lights and ornaments have also put Diya in their compound.

Our reporter from the North says that people are all done with their decorations and are eagerly awaiting to when they can start playing with firecrackers.

He says that the weather in the North has been fine throughout the day and that people have been visiting friends and relatives from the morning.

Meanwhile, the time to use fireworks today and tomorrow is from between 5pm and midnight.
