The essence of Diwali is about unity, coming together and celebrating with eachother.

While speaking at a special Diwali event organised by the management and staff of the Employment Ministry in Suva, Assistant Minister for Employment, Alvick Maharaj says there are a lot of stories about why we celebrate Diwali but in all, it is basically about everybody uniting together.

Maharaj says unity is the main essence of Diwali that people should be advocating to each other and it is also a time where we can come together to reflect on what we have done this year, and how we can best fit ourselves to see what and how can we perform our duties.

He emphasised to the management and staff to improve their service delivery to all its customers.

The Minister also stressed the importance of maintaining professional and timely service delivery.
