Povetkin knocks out Whyte

Heavyweight boxer, Dillian Whyte's hopes of a world-title shot were wrecked as Alexander Povetkin twice rose from the canvas to land a knockout win that will stun boxing.

Povetkin was out-boxed for three rounds and was down twice in the fourth as Whyte mixed poise with power.

But just as it looked as if Whyte would close in on a shot at the WBC world heavyweight title, Povetkin produced a devastating uppercut in the sixth.

Whyte needed treatment but will get a rematch according to promoter, Eddie Hearn.

Round 5: Whyte snaps Povetkin's head back with a jab and then lands a right hand to the side of the head. Povetkin with a massive uppercut and Whyte crumbles to the canvas!

It's over! Povetkin knocks out Whyte!

Povetkin comes back from being knocked down twice in Round 4 to score a crushing knockout. What a punch!

Povetkin gets back to his feet and looks to be ok, but the round ends.

Round 3: Whyte with the first jabs of the round to land and Povetkin gets cracked with a left that rocks him back briefly.
