Devotees across Fiji will celebrate Balram Jayanti tonight, the divine appearance day of Lord Balram, the elder brother of Lord Krishna and part of the Krishna Janmashtami festival, the occasion is a time for Sanatan followers to reflect on Balram’s teachings of strength, righteousness, and selfless service.

Sanatan Dharam Pratinidhi Sabha of Fiji General Secretary Krishneel Tiwari says Lord Balram, regarded as the Adi Guru and the first expansion of Lord Krishna, embodies moral strength and duty.

He says his life teaches discipline, commitment to truth, and courage in the face of injustice, inspiring followers to uphold righteousness and act with integrity in all aspects of life.

Tiwari says observing Balram Jayanti the day before Janmashtami reinforces the lessons of strength and devotion.

He says Balram’s teachings remind devotees that spiritual growth and moral responsibility go hand in hand, helping individuals and communities overcome challenges with courage and selfless service.

Tiwari adds the celebration in Fiji highlights the enduring relevance of Balram’s values, encouraging devotees to practise truth, strength, and service in their daily lives while commemorating the elder brother of Bhagwan Krishna.

Meanwhile, Krishna Janmashtami festival concludes tomorrow.
