The Viti Roofing Devo Babas have been crowned the new champions of the 17th Fiji Bitter Wairiki 7s after defeating defending champion Police Blue 19-7 this afternoon.
Former Fiji 7s halfback Taniela Yaya showcased his brilliance, leading his team to victory with an exceptional performance in the final.
The Devo Babas had earlier defeated Police Blue 26-21 during the pool stages and once again outclassed them in the highly anticipated final.
In the semifinals, the Babas overcame BLK Lavidi Brothers with a 19-12 win, while Police Blue cruised past Flametree Waimanu with an emphatic 26-0 victory.
In other finals, in the U21, Aloha Taveuni beat Dominion Brothers 14-7, and in the women’s divion, Lilian Amazons thrashed Tagimoucia Ranadi 19-0.
