Desecration of Ramayana saddens Vunicuicui devotees during Ram Naumi

Devotees of Vunicuicui Shiv Mandir are deeply saddened after their holy scripture, the Ramayana, was desecrated during the Ram Naumi festival.

Mandir President Dr. Atinesh Prakash says the act has shocked the small, close-knit community, especially during such a sacred time.

He says the act likely occurred on Monday, however, it was discovered yesterday morning when the women arrived for prayers.

Dr. Prakash says the devotees have turned to prayer, seeking peace and wisdom for those responsible.

He adds that they will continue praying to Shri Ram throughout Ram Navami for the lost and troubled souls behind the act.

The President says the community hopes that the individuals find peace, wisdom and humility to understand the importance of respecting what others hold sacred.

He says they also pray that they learn the difference between right and wrong.

We have sent questions to the police regarding potential actions on the matter.
