Delegation expected to arrive today

The delegation from Tuvalu, Solomon Islands, Timor Leste and Vanuatu are expected to arrive into the country today for the second Engaging with the Pacific meeting in Nadi.

This follows the arrival of the French Polynesia representative senator Richard Tuheiava on Sunday.

Fiji’s Foreign Affairs Ministry Deputy Secretary Sila Balawa said most leaders will be in the country by today and preparation work for the regional meeting is progressing well.

The delegation from Tuvalu will be lead by the Prime Minister Willy Telavi, Solomon Islands led by Foreign Affairs Minister Peter Shanel, Timor Leste led by Foreign Affair Minister Dr Zacarias Albano da Costa while Prime Minister Sato Kilman will lead the Vanuatu delegation.

The two day meeting will be held at the Tanoa International Hotel in Nadi tomorrow.

Meanwhile a special Melanesian Spearhead Group meeting will be held today.
