There will be a delay in the delivery of textbooks to schools this year.

This has been confirmed by the Attorney General Aiyaz-Sayed‑Khaiyum.

Sayed‑Khaiyum says the delay is due to the Ministry of Education officers getting a late quotation from three different printing organisations.

Sayed‑Khaiyum says some people at the Fiji Procurement Office may also need to be questioned following the investigation by FICAC.

He adds that they have also discovered that when these printing companies were asked to deliver or asked to give a quotation, it was not based on a timeline.

Sayed‑Khaiyum says they will now call for tenders to print textbooks for the next three years.
