Minister for Defence and National Security Ratu Inoke Kubuabola says he is gravely concerned with the gradual rise in sexual crimes and drug cases in the Northern Division.
Speaking at the Labasa National Crime Board Symposium, Kubuabola says the crime statistics depicts 30% increase in sexual crime recorded for the Northern Division.
He says the root the causes are derived from the constant exposure of our children through watching television, internet surfing and unattended supervision by parents.
He says in most cases nuclear families are perpetrators of this heinous crime.
