Deepak Deo joins Corrections, aims to serve with trust

Deepak Divesh Deo, the only Indo-Fijian to graduate from the Fiji Correction Services, was overjoyed as his sacrifices and hard work finally paid off.

Deo from Wailevu in Labasa had always dreamed of becoming a police officer, however, when things didn’t go as planned, he embraced a new opportunity with the FCS.

Deo says he aims to stay dedicated to the calling and serve the people with trust.

The 34-year-old says he comes from a low-income family, and the support from his parents guided him to fulfill his dream.

He says being the only Indo-Fijian it was hard for him to understand the language but this did not deter his focus.

He was one among the other 63 recruits.
